Job summary
As a Band 7 Psychological
Therapist you will be a responsible for offering specialist psychotherapy in
both individual or group formats to service users accessing therapy within the
Core Team East.
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player who
is highly motivated in working alongside other professionals in the integrated
multi-disciplinary team and being an integral part of the psychological therapy
offer which includes: Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Cognitive
Behavioural Therapists, Psychodynamic and Systemic Psychotherapists; offering a
variety of individual, group, couple and family therapeutic modalities.
We also
offer a full DBT programme across the Wakefield locality which the successful
candidate would be encouraged to participate in as part of their weekly
commitment to the overall therapy offer.
Main duties of the job
1. To work as part of an existing integrated mental health team.
2. To manage an autonomous caseload and attend regular supervision.
3. To conduct new assessments and offer ongoing therapy.
4. To regularly liaise with other team members and attend weekly clinical
meetings.
5. To undertake screening of new referrals and participate in supporting
the other psychological therapists as part of the duty rota (daytime only).
6. To offer supervision of other staff members or trainees as appropriate
to the role.
7. To attend mandatory training and other trainings relevant to the role
and to maintain continued professional development.

Qualifications
Essential
- Psychotherapist:
- Registered qualification in core mental health/social welfare profession.
- Qualifying level course in Psychotherapy or equivalent at Masters level.
- Registration/ Accreditation with the relevant professional/accrediting body for the model of psychotherapy relevant to this post. , e.g. UKCP, ACAP, BABCP.
- Clinical Psychologist:
- Hons. Degree in Psychology.
- Doctoral qualification clinical psychology.
- Appropriate safeguarding training
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
Desirable
- Clinical Psychologist:
- 2:1 min.
- Eligible for chartered status.
