Full Time - 37.5 Hours Per Week

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the Trusts innovative and award-winning Creative Minds initiative. The role will involve working with service users, carers, Trust staff and community groups and organisations to further develop Creative Minds projects and initiatives.

The post holder will need to have experience and skills around community development and capacity building in communities. They will have to have good interpersonal skills as this role is all about partnerships and relationships building. Ideally, they should have experience of supporting the development of peer-led groups and projects.

The post holder would be working across the areas served by this NHS trust including Barnsley, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale, though would be able to work agilely, and would be expected to work with a certain degree of autonomy.

The main base for this post will be the Mental Health Museum at Fieldhead, Wakefield.

The post is 30 hrs permanent, and this will be uplifted by 2-3 years by 7.5 hrs

Main duties of the job

The team is responsive and dedicated and open to change and always strives for the highest standards in compassion and care. There will be opportunities within the role for further training and development.

You will be assisting the Creative Minds managers and Strategic Lead in the development of Creative Minds projects and initiatives. You will also assist in the collation of evaluation and monitoring for those projects.

You will have some responsibility for the development and use of our social media including our website.

The post holder will contribute to the maintenance and content of the teams k-drive folders and support the work of the development manager in organising their funding rounds, funding panels and the development of funded projects including the use of Excel and the Oracle financial accounting system.

You will have some responsibility for the organisation of events facilitated by Creative Minds and will have the opportunity to visit projects/potential projects as part of their development and evaluation and our ongoing relationship with partner organisations.

You will bring excellent community development skills and knowledge to the role, great communication skills and be confident in outreach work in the community as well as hospital settings. During your time you will be supported by the Creative Minds Development Manager for Wakefield and Barnsley

JOB SUMMARY

The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the development Creative Minds projects. This will include a key role in supporting and developing mechanisms for working in partnership with a range of creative partners both internal and external, including service user and carers, community organisations/groups, local authority and other NHS bodies. This will be delivered in association with the Trusts Creative Minds Strategy and the Trust approach to recovery and will cover BDUs and associated services. The post holder will report to their line manager, supervision, support and will need to attend team meetings.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1.1Care/service/function provision:

a) Work within and support the structures associated with Creative Minds, Social Inclusion and Recovery.

b) Ensure that Creative Minds projects provide a high level of service to Trust members and the public and is responsive to the needs of users, carers and staff

c) To promote and market the Creative Minds projects and other related initiatives services through a variety of different mediums in line with communications and marketing framework.

d) Support data collection/contract monitoring for each Creative Minds project, ensuring management and documentation policies are in place to recognised professional standards in compliance with the Trusts Information Governance Strategy.

e) Develop links and network with local agencies and services user and carer groups to share good practice and learning around Creative Minds.

f) Support the development of funding applications with Creative Partners and support funded projects resulting from successful bids

g) Be aware of Creative Minds policies and programmes, ensuring Creative Minds has up to date policies to meet legal requirements e.g. Procurement, Health and Safety, Equality Act, copyright, data protection etc.

h) Consult with service users, carers and staff groups using this information to inform future Creative minds projects

i) Provide information and briefing materials which facilitates improved staff understanding of Creative minds and Creative approaches.

j) Develop and create material activities and taster sessions for Creative Minds related Educational Programme to be delivered through Recovery Colleges.

k) Support the development of service user/carer led Creative projects, initiative and self-help groups.

l) Support the development of volunteers into the work of the Creative Minds programme and offer support to potential volunteers.

1.2 Working as part of a Team:

a) Attend Creative Minds team meeting including Corporate Development team brief

b) Work with the statutory and community sector including, local authority, other NHS organisatons, voluntary organisations, community groups and third sector organisations to develop capacity to deliver creative projects to people who use our services.

c) Support Trust initiatives/activities which challenge stigma associated with mental ill health and long term conditions. Promote equality, diversity, social inclusion, employment, recreation and creativity within the health setting.

d) Support clinical staff and partners in the development of Creative Minds exhibitions and live events to show case the creative talents of people who participate in creative projects.

e) Influence and advise community teams , groups and individuals on the future development and review of the Creative Minds projects

f) Contribute to the production of Creative minds related materials e.g. Creative Minds magazine and other marketing materials

g) To maintain awareness of emerging developments in Creative approaches in service delivery, and to work with colleagues to apply these, as appropriate, at local, regionally, national and international level.

a) Associated personal administration work to enable duties to be carried out

b) Travel between sites/locations to carry out duties, attend meetings at other SWYMHT sites and other premises.

c) To undertake Continuous Personal Development and to participate in training

b) Occasional flexible working outside normal office hours.

c) To report through locality Creative Minds Collectives
