Full Time = 37.5 Hours per week
This role sits within a
friendly, busy and expanding MHA/MCA Team providing a service across the Trust
footprint. You will join the Team at a time-of-service
enhancement with opportunities for development as a line manager having
responsibility for two of the Trusts four MHA offices.
The successful candidate will
work with a supportive management team who provide regular and responsive
supervision and appraisal. The team works closely with the Trust Care
Groups and external agencies having positive relationships with both clinical
and support services.
The post holder will be
expected to exercise initiative, have the ability to prioritise conflicting
work demands and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a
wide range of internal and external colleagues. Exercising tact and diplomacy, ensuring
confidential and sensitive information is kept secure are essential skills to
ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Trust's policies and
procedures.
Main duties of the job
We are committed to delivering a high quality,
supportive and responsive service for the Trust and patients, focused on legal
processes that impact on the delivery of all clinical services.
As a one of two Senior MHA/MCA Administrators you will
have a Trust wide remit and will be required to provide cover in the absence of
your colleague and collaboratively ensure appropriate cover across the Trust wide team.
This role will support the Mental Health Act/ Mental
Capacity Act Managers and Mental Health Act / Mental Capacity Trustwide Manager
in Trust wide actions. You will have responsibility for managing and co-ordinating
an equitable, comprehensive and responsive service across the Trust in support
of the administration of both the MHA and MCA/DoLS.
The postholder will support managers to ensure that
standards are maintained and appropriate, auditable and measurable. The successful applicant will assist in the
development and delivery of local training for both Mental Health Act
1983/Mental Capacity Act 2005, Codes of Practice and associated legislation
which will be delivered internally and externally to the Trust.

Capacity Act administration staff. Inc. supervision, delegation of work, maintaining
staff records, appraisals and on going support

and protocols

To liaise with and support clinicians ,
external agencies, staff, family, friends and carers in the administration of
all aspects of the Mental Health Act / Mental Capacity Act and associated
legislation

management of data either manually or electronically to contribute to reports
and audits
5)
To ensure the provision of any monitoring
information required by the Mental Health Act committee. This will include information required by
external orgnisations subject to data protection regulation as well as ad hoc
requests

To develop and implement a training programme
relating to aspects to Mental Health Act / Mental Capacity Act administration
7)
To assit in the provision of updates to staff
on developments locally and nationally in relation to current and future
legislation
8)
To ensure that appropriate and consistent
administration support is provided to Non-Executive Directors and Associate
Hosptial Managers in relation to Appeal/Review hearings

To support the organisation of Hosptial
Managers Reviews and Mental Health Review Tribunals including negoation with
