Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven individual to join the Wakefield Recovery and Wellbeing College as a team secretary. The Recovery College is a fast paced, ever-evolving service that reacts quickly to the needs of the local population, working alongside professionals and those with lived experiences of ill health to deliver self-management workshops and courses.

The right candidate will be very proactive with their workload and with developing new ideas, will be highly proficient in the use of Excel and Word, will have the knowledge and skills to maintain the Colleges social media platforms and internet presence, will be adaptable to change, will be a team player, and will be confident, friendly and supportive. Due to the fast-paced nature of the Recovery College, it is imperative that candidates are able to cope with strict deadlines and time pressures, are able to prioritise workload, are efficient at problem solving, are able to react promptly and efficiently to situations that may occur and are able to adapt to the needs of the service within an ever-changing and evolving environment, having a can-do attitude.

Main duties of the job

As a team secretary for the Recovery College, you will be responsible to the day to day management of student records and enrolments, maintenance of our customer relationship management system (Mind Recovery Net), managing the College telephone line by receiving calls and liaising with students and members of the public as well as volunteers and stakeholders, assisting the College Coordinators with their work, providing admin for the recruitment and training of our volunteers, co-producing and co-facilitating courses (a requirement of every member of the team), as well as other standard administrative duties and base (building) responsibilities.

The role requires regular use of Excel spreadsheets and web-based programmes (such as Mind Recovery Net and Canva), social media account and website management, liaising with a variety of people and supporting the teams shared aims and objectives.

Whilst the team works to a hybrid model currently, moving forward there will be a requirement for team secretaries to work from base, with the team working across the district in various locations.
