An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated OH clinic nurse to join our Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service based at Fieldhead Hospital Wakefield

The service is nurse led by the Head of Occupational Health & Wellbeing and you will be part of a an MDT which includes the following specialities, occupational health Advisors, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health nurse, Physiotherapists, MSK specialist, counsellors and Health & Wellbeing Practitioners. The role will require travel to satellite clinics across a number of Trust sites including Barnsley, Huddersfield, Halifax, , Bradford and Leeds.

The successful candidate will deliver immunisations, venepuncture, clearance for work health assessments and provide support to the OH advice line.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication/ interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for undertaking clinics to include assessing a staff members immunisation history against local and national guidance for healthcare workers, providing required vaccinations and taking necessary blood tests.

You will review any blood tests to determine appropriate follow-up actions.

You will be responsible for maintaining records in relation to the cold chain of the vaccinations within the department.

You will keep accurate computer records.

You will communicate with various disciplines across the organisations we support.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse Level 1.
  • Current NMC registration.

Desirable

  • Experience gained within a busy, customer focused department.
  • Experience of liaising with customers on a daily basis and the ability to handle difficult situations.

  • Aware of own limitations.
  • Aware of the current NHS initiatives including the NHS People Plan.
  • Insight into clinical speciality.
  • Insight into current issues in nursing/ professional issues.
