Job summary

The
NHS takes security very seriously. Patients and staff need to be kept safe
while in hospital, so access must be limited to people with a genuine reason to
be on hospital premises.
As a security officer, you will play
a central role to help create a safe and secure environment for patients,
visitors and staff across all our premises.
Security officers are based at the
Fieldhead Hospital, but spend a lot of their time across the trust at various
premises, making sure everything is safe and secure while liaising with trust
staff and patients.
Security staff need to be outgoing to
ensure that we create a security awareness with NHS colleagues and patients,
while patrolling the grounds and car parks.
We require a level of public sector
or similar experience and awareness for security, particularly dealing with
challenging situations. It is desirable, but not essential, that applicants
have relevant Security. We are looking for Security Industry Authority (SIA)
Door Supervisor- or Security Officer Licence holders, but if you dont have the
licence and feel that you can show a understanding and awareness for security,
evidence some experience with working with service users and the public, and
enthusiasm for working with a small team, we can support your development into
the security role and appropriate training.
Main duties of the job

- where possible, diffuse potentially difficult situations
- liaise with police or other emergency services if required
- monitor and review CCTV
- vigilantly patrol the outside of the hospital including the grounds
