We have an exciting
opportunity for a Band 3 Community Support Worker to join the North Kirklees
Insight, Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team. This team offers assessment and treatment for
people aged between 14 and 65, experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP)
or At Risk Mental State (ARMS). The
service aims to reduce individuals need for longer term mental health
services.
You will be part of a
motivated, supportive and cohesive multi-disciplinary Mental Health Team where
your contribution is highly important. The team actively promotes a recovery
focused approach to the care coordination of our clients. You will be able to
assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual
care plans and group activities.
You will be based in Beckside
Court, Batley. You will liaise with a
range of professionals and teams across adult and younger peoples mental
health services and undertake a variety of roles depending on the requirements
of the individual service user.
Visa sponsorship under the Health and Care Worker visa route can
only be considered if the prorated salary meets the minimum threshold of
£25,000, as required by the UK Visas and Immigration. For Band 3 roles, only
full-time positions at the top of the pay scale meet this threshold. Therefore,
sponsorship may not be possible depending on salary increment placement and
working hours.
Main duties of the job
Supporting Care Co-ordinators in providing person centred care to service users through 1-1 practical support.
Working in partnerships with other agencies within our local community to promote social inclusion.
Taking a lead in maintaining sustainability of our current and future group work. These groups currently include gardening, walking, craftwork, snooker, and football as well as a women only group. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will bring fresh ideas and initiate new groups.
Supporting individuals with exploring vocation or further education.
Supporting carers of people with FEP or ARMS.
Assist individuals gain confidence and independence through using public transport.
Effectively communicating through verbal and written reports. Confidence with adapting to new IT systems would be an advantage in this area.
The successful candidate must have experience in working with people with serious mental health issues.
