Calderdale CAMHS are looking for an experienced Clinical
Psychologist to lead in offering clinical advice and support during a period of
exciting service development.
The post holder will lead the Neurodevelopmental assessment
team providing clinical oversight and leadership, taking responsibility for the
clinical governance and compliance, alongside contributing to diagnostic
assessments.
You will also be a source of supervision and support to
management and colleagues in core CAMHS and the LD Team.
You will take a strategic lead in maintaining and further
developing the service provision in line with Calderdales vision to implement
an integrated model of health and well being.
Applicants will have significant experience of working in
children's Neurodevelopmental assessment services and be passionate about
developing services and providing clinical leadership and support to other
professionals.
Clinical supervision will be offered by the Consultant
Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Lead.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the lead for the Neurodevelopment
assessment team and will also offer clinical leadership and support to the
wider CAMHS team.
The role will include:
using high level assessment and formulation
skills to offer diagnostic assessments for autism and ADHD.
Clinically leading the neurodevelopmental
assessment team to ensure an effective, efficient, quality service.
Working closely with the team/service manager
and clinical lead.
Contributing a clinical opinion to service
developments in Calderdale CAMHS.
Attending core CAMHS and LD team meetings to
offer clinical advice and direction.
Offering supervision.
Supporting service evaluation providing regular
reports for the service/general manager and commissioners, advising where
appropriate on service needs and future development.

in the context of inadequate or unavailable information, equivocal research/
evidence or where expert opinion differs.
6 The post holder will be expected to
exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment
and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based
care plans.
7 The post holder is expected to act as
care co-ordinator where appropriate, ensuring the provision of a care package
for the clients needs, co coordinating the work of others involved with care,
arranging the clients reviews as required and communicating effectively with
the client, the family and all others involved in the care and to monitor
progress during the course of multidisciplinary interventions.
8 The post holder will have skills to
communicate sensitive and complex information regarding personal psycho-social
problems in an empathic and supportive way using the highest levels of
interpersonal skills in situations which can be highly emotional and sometimes
antagonistic.

responsibility and autonomy for the treatment and discharge of clients, whose
problems are managed as a psychologically based care plan, ensuring appropriate
assessment, formulation and interventions, communicating with the referral
agent and others involved with the care on a regular basis.

assessments that will be used to inform/advise other professionals and carers
where there are concerns in relation to mental health or risk taking behaviour.
