My name is Damian Madden and Im the acting Service Manager for NHS Kirklees Talking Therapies. We provide psychological therapy and treatment for people with common mental health problems throughout Kirklees.

As part of a national initiative, we are looking to offer Employment Support to clients using the service. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Employment Advisor to work alongside the Service Manager, Leadership Team and clinicians in launching and developing this part of Talking Therapies.

This will allow us to not only focus on helping clients to recover, but to assist people to maintain and add to their functioning in an important aspect of their lives.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Employment Advisor, you will help develop the service and supervise a small team of Band 4 Employment Advisors as they support clients with employment support needs.

You will liaise with managers, senior clinicians and therapists within the team to ensure clients are on the correct employment support pathway as well as build relationships with third sector organisations and stakeholders.

You will also be required to attend regular clinical and management supervision and engage in continued professional development.

In addition you will carry a small case-load.

The Senior Employment Advisor will line manage a small team of Employment Advisors (band 4) providing supervision and caseload management, as part of the holistic recovery plan for service users.

The Senior Employment Advisor will provide a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets fidelity standards and delivers positive outcomes for service users.

You will work with service users (manage a small caseload) who have a common mental health problem, who have employment support needs.

Effectively manage a high-quality service that adheres to the principles of the EA in Talking Therapies Service Specification.

Monitor and manage performance of the the Employment Advisors guide them individually on best practice and achieving individual and team KPIs including job outcome targets.

Support their team to undertake regular audits and develop a culture of continual improvement in quality.

Identify training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development and empower your staff.

Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).

Involve service users in co-production of service developments where possible.

Coordinate the work of Employment advisors in relation to building relationships with employers to effectively access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.

Review assessments, outcome plans and progress reviews for completeness, quality and consistency with our strengths-based principles.

Produce regular monitoring reports for internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners.

Manage a small caseload of service users at any one time. With this caseload, you will offer time limited sessions, undertake assessments of individuals with common mental health problems who have employment support needs, developing vocational profiles of the individuals employment needs and abilities, and formulating an employment action plan.

Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-fidelity service.

Ensure quality assurance around service user satisfaction. Facilitate various feedback opportunities for service users to provide feedback on the service and use this to review and develop the service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 standard or equivalent knowledge, training and experience.
  • A Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day is essential (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability).

Desirable

  • Training in Individual placement support (IPS) approach.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Employability Services or equivalent.

Physical Attributes
