An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified professional to apply for a
full time Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner post within the Calderdale Childrens
Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant would
work as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team offering
diagnostic assessments for children where there are concerns regarding Autism
Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Assessments may
include direct assessments with the child, parent interviews, and school
observations.
The post holder would work
autonomously and as part of a team, partaking in regular multidisciplinary team
meetings. Opportunities for providing supervision and developing the service
are promoted. Training and regular clinical supervision are provided.
The service sits within the wider
CAMHS which includes a mental health pathway, eating disorders service, and
crisis team. The service is based in Calderdale and covers a wide geographical
area, therefore the post holder must have the means to travel independently
across the area.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
To provide clinical expertise and advice on assessment, diagnosis and management of children with neurodevelopmental conditions as part of the multidisciplinary team.
To work independently and as part of a team to manage a caseload and to promote efficient movement through the pathway.
To provide clinical expertise to the multidisciplinary team to inform their decision making and to provide advice and guidance to carers, non-clinical staff or members of other professions, who may be influenced by this and to maintain professional relationships with relevant others, working as part of the wider team.
To participate in the planning and implementation of the day to day operation of the Calderdale Childrens Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service to this client group.
To prepare, implement and evaluate neurodevelopmental assessments for clients to ensure the delivery of designated standards of care consistent with departmental policies and professional guidelines.
To develop, write, deliver and evaluate training packages with access to specialist support as required to parents, carers, other professional groups.
To provide mentoring, clinical supervision, peer support and joint visits for professionals and assistants relevant to this clinical area.
To assist in the training and supervision of assistants and students from various professions and to be involved in the provision of full time student placements in accordance with professional guidelines.
To participate in the development of innovations in the Calderdale Childrens Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service and related service delivery issues, risk management, quality standard setting and clinical effectiveness.
To maintain accurate and concise clinical records, providing appropriate reports, attend case conferences and reviews and to provide statistical information to facilitate future business planning in line with Trust guidelines.
To reflect on practice, both individually and with peers to identify own strengths and needs, demonstrate Continuing Professional Development and to maintain a portfolio or equivalent in line with professional and Trust guidelines
To work within the confines of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
