Job summary
South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are
seeking to recruit all grades and specialities of psychiatry trust-wide to the trust
medical bank. Opportunities will include 1st or 2nd on-call
rota and day time shifts as well as longer term posts

We offer local CPD events such as the JAPS (Joint Academic Psychiatric Seminar)
a monthly meeting for trust-wide psychiatrists with a wide range of clinical
topics covered. Additionally, we offer an in-house mentoring programme and
leadership and management development activities. We are happy to look at
supporting those with interests in research, whether new or an ongoing research
project

Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will have full registration with the
GMC, as well as having achieved the appropriate level of competencies to carry
out the role you have been employed to do. Duties, dependant on the nature of
the post, include
Carry out psychiatric assessments in a variety of
settings working flexibly with other members of the team
Be responsible for the day to day psychiatric and medical
care of patients under the care of the Consultant
To maintain adequate written documentation of all medical and
psychiatric examination of the patients to maintain a professional and ethical
stance towards the patients, their relatives, other team members and other
agencies
Deliver
evidence-based treatments
The
post holder should work flexibly, be accessible and provide appropriate
response to patients

As this is bank work, it is on an as and when basis with
no guaranteed hours and the local working arrangements will be dependent on the
service any one shift is being worked in.

Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- MRCPsych
- Additional clinical qualifications.
Experience
Essential
- Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.
- Shall have completed at least four years full time postgraduate training in the UK (or its equivalent gained on part-time basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant or demonstrable achievement of the necessary equivalent experience and competencies
Desirable
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
- Experience in General Adult psychiatry or relevant specialty is desirable. Equivalent experience is acceptable, if appropriate competencies can be demonstrated and with agreement of the Chief Medical Officer.
- Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine, and A&E.
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment (as joining a middle tier on-call rota).
