An exciting opportunity has
arisen for a Senior community learning disabilities
nurse to join Barnsley Adult Community
Learning Disabilities Health Service.
You will join an experienced,
well-established and committed specialist multi-disciplinary team who work
agilely across a number of locations in Barnsley
and the surrounding areas. The Team consists
of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists, clinical
psychologists, learning disability nurses, occupational therapists,
physiotherapist, speech & language therapists, dietician, therapy
assistants and healthcare support workers. The Team works together to support
individuals age 18 and over with diagnosed learning disabilities and their
families/carers.
At

Main duties of the job
You will carry the
responsibility for a defined caseload this will include service users of all
levels of ability.
You will serve as an effective
member of the MDT and promote a consistent multi-agency approach including
support, supervision and development of junior staff.
You must be able to work
flexibly based on service user need and using reasonable adjustments to provide
support to service users, family and carers.
You will need to demonstrate
an ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
You will have an understanding
of the complex needs of people with learning disabilities and be able to
demonstrate that they have the qualities to deliver safe, effective and
personalised care to meet the needs of the service user ensuring systems and
processes are followed in accordance with Trust objectives.

Due to the nature of the role
it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the

Provide clinical supervision and professional

Support health improvement initiatives.
Ensure that professional registration is maintained.
