Job summary

37.5 Hours Per Week. The Trust is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Clinical Coder and Administrator to join our Information Governance Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate clinical coding and providing hight-quality administrative support to maintain smooth day to day operations with the practice.

This role will be perfect for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has a passion for detail, is organised, precise and committed to maintaining high standards of data quality and patient care.

The candidate must have undertaken a Clinical Coding Standard course and be willing to work towards becoming ACC qualified within a 2 year period.

At the time of advertising, this role does not meet the minimum requirements (salary threshold or occupational requirements) set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK. For this reason, unfortunately we are unable to sponsor anyone on a visa for this role at this moment in time.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Coder, you'll work as a member of a team to provide an efficient clinical coding service working to established systems and procedures. You'll join a friendly and supportive team to accurately translate patient records into coded data using ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 classifications.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Reading and interpreting clinical documentation from patient records

Applying accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 codes in line with national standards and local policies

Working with clinicians and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality data

Participating in coding audits and feedback sessions

Contributing to a culture of learning, accuracy and consistency

This data plays a crucial role in patient care planning, research, audit and funding.
