We are looking to recruit hard working, enthusiastic individuals to join our Facilities Operational Team based at Kendray Hospital.
High standards of cleanliness and hygiene in healthcare environments is of paramount importance, therefore we are looking to appoint staff who are ambitious, motivated and take pride in the work they do.
The successful candidate will be trained in the following areas catering and portering. This is subject to successful completion of all training requirements as detailed on the job description/person specification.
The post requires flexibility to meet the needs of the service and will involve weekend and bank holiday working.
Main duties of the job
Working in the Catering Department the successful candidate will undertake catering duties, including the preparation, production, delivery, presentation and removal of food.
Working in the Transport and Portering Team the successful candidate will be responsible for replacing medical gas cylinders, removal of waste, distribution of stores and linen, office and furniture moves and distributing/ collecting mail.
At the time of advertising, this role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK. For this reason, we are unable to sponsor anyone for a skilled worker visa for this role

Job responsibilities
The cleaning and good housekeeping of the hospital environment and equipment internally/externally related to the specific job role. The post holder will only use approved methods and equipment/mechanical aids to national/Trust standards to ensure that a professional image is maintained at all times.
The removal of refuse and soiled/infected linen and waste to designated areas in line with Trust Infection Prevention and Control Policy/Waste Policy.
To undertake all patient related catering duties, including the preparation, production, delivery, presentation and removal of food in line with local food safety and local HACCP systems.
The movement of goods as determined by the Department across the Trust sites.
Replace medical gas cylinders, exchange flow meter valves on cylinders where necessary, collect and return cylinders to the gas store.
To report any security matters which require attendance and ensure the environment is secure out of hours by locking doors in accordance with local procedure.
Responsible for the safety and security of any goods/equipment used with the specific role.
To organise and sort goods/items in an effective manner for distribution across the Trust sites according to schedules.
Ensure an adequate supply of items/equipment necessary for the role are maintained.
Ensuring all communications are responded to in an efficient/timely manner.
To follow all local method statements and risk assessments to ensure that the role is undertaken in a safe, secure manner.
To complete and record role specific date/information either electronically or in written format that is required complying with operational procedures or local/Trust/National Policy and audit recommendations/controls.
To provide a warm professional welcome and supportive communication to Service Users and visitors to the Trust, providing an efficient and courteous service.
Use and maintain any role specific databases/hardware/software, in accordance with Departmental guidelines.
Ensure that all duties are carried out in line with quality control procedures using standard facilities documentation.
To ensure that the correct uniform and PPE is worn at all times whilst on duty.
To undertake the duties of any of the specific job role ensuring that all procedures, correct practices are adhered to.
