We are looking to recruit a professionally qualified speech and
language therapist to work in the Childrens Speech and Language Therapy
Service in the Borough of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are happy to accept applications from
speech and language therapy students on the proviso that the are registered to
Health Care Professions Council by end October 2025.
We are well equipped with excellent administrative support and
have an award winning YouTube channel, Barnsley
speech and language therapy - YouTube and Tookit, www.barnsleyspeechtherapy.co.uk . We have recently won an Excellence Award for
use of Virtual-Reality in therapy.
We hold regular team meetings and offer clinical and safeguarding
supervision, mentoring and CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job
You will participate in the
provision and development of an effective, high-quality speech and language
therapy service for children, young people and families. You will assess, diagnose and manage speech,
language and communication difficulties in a range of clients, organising your
caseload independently but with access to mentoring, clinical and management
supervision. You will demonstrate sound
clinical judgement, including the ability to negotiate, differentially diagnose
and develop and evaluate care plans. You will also be a member of the
multidisciplinary team and provide advice to other professionals. You will work with and support speech and
language therapy assistants. As with all health care, you will complete timely,
accurate and comprehensive clinical records.

JOB SUMMARY

KEY RESULT AREAS:
