An exciting opportunity
has arisen in Barnsley CAMHS for a full time band 7 / 8a Clinical Psychologist,
depending on experience. We can also offer this as a preceptorship band 7 to 8a
role within a framework of competency development.
Our multidisciplinary
team deliver a high-quality service that promotes and improves the mental
health and well being of children and young people and their families. This position
is within our Core Team, made up of the Complex Behaviour and Mood and
Emotional Pathways. Young people may present with complex needs, anxiety and
mood related difficulties, trauma, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
This is an exciting and
varied role with opportunity for skill development, training, and supervision. The
Trust promotes a trauma informed approach, and staff support and well being is
embedded within the service.
Main duties of the job
The role involves
providing assessment, formulation and evidence based interventions with young
people and families, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and offering
consultation and liaison with other professionals. Our pathways are also
inclusive, working with young people who are neurodiverse, including carrying
out ADHD assessments.
We strongly encourage the
development of positive therapeutic relationships to achieve the best outcomes.
We are also committed to hearing the voice of our young people, developing
collaborative goals, and engaging in co-production.
You will also provide clinical
supervision, support to junior colleagues and work alongside clinicians across
a range of disciplines and therapy modalities. You will also have opportunities
to be involved in MDT and interagency meetings and may be asked to deputise
alongside the leadership team at times.
