Job summary
Barnsley CAMHS are pleased to announce that we have a number of exciting opportunities across our teams for enthusiastic and committed Assistant Psychologists who have a passion for working with children and young people. These posts will enable the individual to develop their skills and knowledge as part of future career progression and personal development.
As an Assistant Psychologist you will develop skills in neurodevelopmental assessments, service evaluation and individual/group-based therapeutic interventions. You will be joining an established multi-disciplinary team including Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Mental Health Nurses, all of whom work with children and young people up to the age of 18.

Main duties of the job
The role of an Assistant Psychologist is diverse and exciting, with lots of opportunity to develop an array of skills in assessment and intervention across the whole of the service. There is robust support from the Psychology team, who will guide you to reach your potential and develop your skills to embark on your future career in Clinical Psychology!
Service priorities include single point of contact in Branching Minds, which is our front door for all referrals, thorough initial assessments, specialist assessment such as ADHD and a range of mental health interventions. We have strong multi-disciplinary working, as well as close links with external agencies.
