Job summary
The Barnsley Integrated Community Equipment Service (BICES) provides the loan of a wide range of Social, Health, and Medical Equipment, to support the care needs and to promote the independence of service users living within the Barnsley area.
This can be such a rewarding role to undertake, in the support and installation of community equipment that can make a real difference to people, living within Barnsley.
To work effectively within a small team to demonstrate a quality outcome and empathy, with regard to patient care within the community.

Main duties of the job
The role of a Driver / Fitter is responsible for ensuring that Community Service Equipment is Delivered, Collected, and Safely fitted within clients homes and often working with the minimum of supervision. A keen awareness of Health and Safety especially regarding the delivery and fitting of larger / heavier items of equipment. Manual dexterity and the use of small hand tools, often associated with the fitting process, and an awareness of Infection control procedures, are key attributes toward the undertaking of this role.
The role will require significant level of flexibility to support the smooth running of the BICES service, and to work in other areas of the service should the need arise. A full driving licence and similar experience within a Multi drop, or Health Logistical role is essential.
