Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate; Band 4 part time post (30 hours per week) within the Plastic Surgery Department Gates 28 & 28c. You will be working alongside Plastic Surgeons and other Nursing staff in the Plastic Surgery Ward and the Plastic Surgery Assessment Unit.

Main duties of the job

You will work 11.5 hour shifts directly looking after patients on the ward or Assessment unit.

You will work as a team to support Surgeons, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants within your team.

You will be responsible for the evaluation and implementation of all aspects of patient centred care using current evidence based practice including: Medicine administration, pre, peri & post op care of patients, simple and very complex dressings and discharge implementation & planning. You will also assist Plastic Surgeons in the Major treatment room on the department.

Perform and record clinical observations including blood pressure, temperature, respirations, pulse

Accurately record nutritional and fluid intake

Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times

Report back and share information with the registered nurses on the condition, behaviour, activity and responses of individuals
