Job summary

The Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence located on our Pontefract Hospital site and has recently undergone a transformation in 2 of our operating theatres. We operate Monday to Friday, with 4 dedicated clean air theatres.

It is a key part of the Trusts extensive Theatre service, also comprising of 15 theatres on the Pinderfields Hospital site, and 6 theatres on our Dewsbury site. The Centre will deliver the majority of orthopaedic elective surgery, whilst paediatric, trauma and very high-risk elective cases will continue to be undertaken at Pinderfields, due to the co-location with our Intensive Care Unit.

Main duties of the job

If you are selected to join our team of orthopaedic experts, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise within the broad range of Orthopaedic surgical procedures.

We also cover Urology/ Ophthalmic & Community Dentals

The role will consist of Anaesthetics/ Scrub or both roles depending on experience. These roles consist of preparing the theatre environment for surgery Support will be given throughout and a preceptorship period will be included
