Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Project and Data Support Officer to join the Cancer team at Mid Yorkshire
Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a full time, fixed term post for a period of
twelve (12) months.
This role will support the Cancer Project
Manager and the Cancer Senior Data Quality Officer in the delivery of a range
of quality improvement projects and carrying out audits to measure accuracy and
completeness of the data input for cancer pathways in the Cancer Information
System.
The post requires a high degree of initiative,
a self-starter with excellent organisational, time management and multitasking
skills. Knowledge and experience of working on projects and utilising
project documentation is essential, and a knowledge of the cancer standards
will be an advantage.
The post requires good verbal and communication
skills, experience/knowledge of writing reports and analysing data using
Microsoft Office packages. The ability to organise and prioritise your
workload and work to deadlines is essential as well as the ability to work on
your own or as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
This is a dual role supporting the
Cancer Project Manager and the Senior Data Quality Officer.
As Project and Data Support Officer for
the Cancer Management Team you will be responsible for supporting the delivery
of a range of quality improvement activities and projects designed to deliver
improvements in cancer outcomes and experience for patients to time, cost and
quality criteria and meeting a range of stakeholder requirements.
You will also be supporting the
Senior Data Quality Officer in carrying out audits to measure accuracy and
completeness of the data input for cancer pathways into the Cancer Information
System. You will be responsible for collecting
data on the Best Practice Timed Pathway (BPTP) and ensuring that these are
entered into appropriate fields on the Cancer Information System to ensure
compliance with mandated submission to the Cancer Alliance and CQUINS. You must promote the recording of high-quality
data for cancer pathways on the Trusts clinical information systems, by
helping and advising users with cancer data quality problems in line with the
latest CWT (Cancer Waiting Times), COSD, Best Practice Timed Pathway (BPTP) and
cancer clinical audit dataset guidance.

appropriate information and resource input to service improvement projects and
programmes.
In conjunction with project and
divisional leads produce key project documentation, including but not limited
to, project approval forms and highlight reports.
Produce workstream and divisional
reports, initiate and maintain action and risk logs.
Ensure project risks and issues
are escalated on a timely basis alongside providing assistance and advice on
potential remedial action.
Collate, analyse, interpret and
present quantitative and qualitative data and information to inform service
improvement and development processes.
Provide assistance on issues
relating to project management and embed the Mid Yorkshire Programme Management
Framework (or equivalent) for assigned projects
