Mid Yorkshire
Teaching NHS Trust are proud to advertise a position within the Nurse Endoscopy
team for a qualified Clinical Endoscopist. The successful applicant will join
an established team of Clinical Endoscopists led by a Consultant Nurse
Endoscopist. Ideally the successful applicant will be trained in colonoscopy
and gastroscopy and be a qualified Independent Prescriber. Support will be
given to train in any required endoscopy modality and prescribing if needed.
The JAG
accredited endoscopy service at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals Trust operates
out of three sites, Pinderfields Hospital, Dewsbury Hospital and Pontefract
Infirmary.The successful applicant will have a clinical supervisor and
mentor and be empowered to train in a supportive environment in line with the
Pan Yorkshire Training Academy vision.
Mid Yorkshire
Teaching Trust has recently been appointed as the West Yorkshire Endoscopy
Regional Training Centre and the successful candidate will be encouraged to
train others as part of their role.

Main duties of the job
The Nurse
Endoscopist will provide upper or lower GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy including polypectomy for patients
managed at the Trust and out-patients. The post holder will help support the national
constitutional standards within the organisation and will be supported by a team of Consultant Gastroenterologists and
Surgeons.
The Nurse
Endoscopist will act as an autonomous, accountable practitioner working on
their own initiative and in collaboration with nursing, medical and allied
health professionals to assess individual patient needs, initiate
investigations, determine a differential diagnosis and initiate appropriate
holistic evidence based treatment and care. The post holder will also support
the speciality prepare
for
JAG accreditation and
GRS requirements as well as help improve, rationalise and enhance current
services across the Endoscopy Units.
