An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated person to work within our Decontamination Department at Pinderfields Hospital.
If you are looking for a change, why not try a new opportunity with the team in our busy Flexible Scoping Decontamination unit. Full training will be given by members of the team. Attention to detail is a key requirement so if you have a good eye for detail why not apply straight away.
There is 1 full time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday - 12pm to 20.00pm with an on call requirement for a Sunday to be discussed at the interview stage.

Main duties of the job
To work as an integral part
of the department team in the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, disinfection,
reassembly, packing and sterilisation of surgical instruments (medical
devices). Recording all tasks on the departments computerised tracking and tracing
system.
To work at all times in
accordance with the department Standard Operating Procedures and the Quality
Management System.

Job responsibilities
- To work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System.
- To reprocess reusable medical devices under supervision; disassemble, clean, disinfect, check, assemble, sterilize, despatch and track in a controlled environment.
- Under supervision, meet the demands of the departments workload whilst consistently achieving high quality standards which will be measured by in process checks and non-conformance reports.
- To use manual dexterity and concentration for the disassembly and reassembly of the reusable medical devices in accordance with manufacturers instructions.
- To operate decontamination equipment (washer disinfectors and sterilizers) and carry out routine tests in accordance with Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, Quality Standards and Guidance.
- To communicate with enquiries from users in a polite and helpful manner, seeking advice when required.
- Receive tray orders from service users, assemble order into theatre case carts and deliver to theatres in a timely manner to ensure theatre list can commence as scheduled.
- Deliver urgent products to Theatres/Departments as necessary.
- The post holder will be expected to participate in rostered Bank Holiday work and cover shifts as necessary for the provision of the service.
