Job summary
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Operations Service Manager to join our Division of Infrastructure.

Whilst the post is based at the Dewsbury and District Hospital site, the post holder will be required to spend 2 days at Dewsbury District Hospital and Pinderfields General Hospital and 1 day at Pontefract General Infirmary.
The working hours for this role is 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 08.00am - 16.00pm.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support for the Facilities Operations Manager and various
services ensuring
that the associated
teams achieve the appropriate agreed outcomes and conforms to all agreed
practices, policies, and procedures.
You will lead
specific aspects of the strategic development of Patient Environment function
and Facilities Operations functions to ensure that the service delivers the
required complete outcomes across the Trust.
You will act as
strategic lead to various services including chairing meetings, updating Trust
policies and procedures, completing business cases, supporting with the
contract tender process, to an action plan to be achieved on time and to the
required standards. Service budget
holder and Recruitment lead for various service under structure. Managing the
performance of the operational managers within the post holders agreed work
area.
The post
holder must have a highly specialised knowledge across the number of different
service functions on a range of complex, sensitive procedures and practice
relating to the range of patient environment services.
To deputise, where required, for
other Facilities Managers or the Senior Facilities Managers, while attending
the daily Trust operational tactical bed meeting in line with the rota when
required.

- The operations service Manager must recognise and promote a safe working environment which adheres to Health and Safety Regulations and Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Resolving operational issues as they arise, analysing facts and situations to make appropriate judgements in non-routine situations to ensure the efficient running of the department within broad operational guidelines.
- Through regular day to day contact, the operations service Manager must ensure that service teams and individuals are supported to deliver their core service requirements to meet service standards.
- Attend and contribute to a range of Trust wide initiatives and advisory meetings as required e.g. Clinical waste and dangerous goods meeting, Sickness Management & Recruitment.
- Contribute to the review and implementation of Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) Specialist cleans requiring an in-depth knowledge of NHS National Cleaning Standards and a sound understanding of health and safety and patient management.
- The Operations Service Manager will assist the Facilities Operations Manager with designated Facilities Management contracts including the pest control Services, Task Management service and clinical waste contract and other such contracts should they arise.
- Assist the Facilities Operations Manager with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new technology initiatives.
- Assist and delegate for the Facilities Operations Manager when required.
- The Operations Service Manager will be required to act as chair to recruitment and selection panels.
- Through regular day to day contact, the Operations Service Manager must ensure that service teams and individuals are supported to deliver their core service requirements to meet service standards.
