Here at the Mid
Yorkshire Trust an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant
Radiographer to become a key role within our department here at the Breast
Imaging department within Radiology. We
require someone who has excellent organisational and Interpersonal skills and
who can continuously improve themselves and help others to do so within our
department. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of
DCR(R) or BSc in Radiography, Masters Degree in breast imaging, Professional
Development Portfolio, Postgraduate qualification in Breast
Ultrasound, Postgraduate qualification in mammographic reporting and Postgraduate
qualification in breast Interventional procedures. Experience of running a One
Stop Breast Clinic autonomously, is a
necessity for this role.
The Mid Yorkshire Trust has excellent travel links to Leeds,
Sheffield, Doncaster and Bradford. We are close to both the M1 and the M62.

Main duties of the job
To support the delivery of the breast service through developing
advanced and expert clinical service to enhance patient care across breast
radiology.
Support the leadership of the radiographic and wider multidisciplinary
team in line with the service vision whilst developing as a consultant
radiographer.
Time distributed between clinical and non-clinical duties.
To write departmental and implement Trust
wide/departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
To use advanced clinical judgement to enable
independent decision-making.
To provide expert clinical advice in relation to
breast radiology and support the multidisciplinary team.
Act as an ambassador to promote the
role of the consultant radiographer in the wider world of breast imaging.
Provide clinical and professional leadership and
career development for radiographers.
Provide leadership to radiographers, functioning on
a day-to-day basis as a consultant to improve patient care and clinical
practice based upon clinical expertise.
Function as an internal and external consultant in
matters relating to breast radiology.
Function as a key member of the radiology team.
