The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust are looking for dedicated and forward thinking nurses to work within our Paediatric HDU. This is an exciting time as we are expanding our HDU bed base to a dedicated 4 bedded Level 2 unit.

Our HDU unit is based within Gate 46, Children's Ward at Pinderfields Hospital and this post would be suitable for an experienced Children's Nurse with the possession of both strong clinical knowledge and leadership qualities. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong leadership, a positive attitude to service development and an ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job
The Post holder will work within the Paediatric High Dependency Team (HDU) to provide care for infants, children and young people. The RN will practice autonomously, be responsible and accountable for providing safe, compassionate, person centred, evidence based nursing care. They will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, planning care, implementation and evaluation without direct supervision. In collaboration with the medical team, you will be responsible for leading care within HDU.
The post holder will practice in a holistic, non-judgemental, caring and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity. You will work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students, trainees and agencies, service users, their carers and families. The post holder will contribute to the practice development within their clinical care setting and work in accordance with Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and will be responsible for completing any work based training associated with the role.
As a Band 6 you will provide senior nursing leadership throughout the 24 hour period, this post will consist of both day and night duties. You will be supported and work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure a high standard of nursing care and ensuring patient safety and patient/staff experience are maintained.
