Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a proactive, dynamic and motivated Gynaecology Matron with leadership experience who will motivate and empower teams to ensure high standards of care are set and delivered for gynaecological patients.
Working with the Multi-Disciplinary team across Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, Gynaecology Outpatients and working collaboratively with Surgical Inpatient teams , the Matron will ensure excellence in clinical practice and nursing care via robust assurance and governance processes.
The promotion of excellence in patient experience and ensuring all patients are treated with dignity and respect is pivotal to the role; a robust understanding of local and national gynaecology drivers and how these interact with the populations across Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust's 3 sites is essential.
The post holder will be a proactive advocate for quality and safety improvements and consistent in the leadership of robust governance processes to ensure a safe culture with a proactive response to understanding, identifying and dealing with risk.
The Gynaecology Outpatient Department provides diagnostic and therapeutic services that include oncology, colposcopy, hysteroscopy and urogynaecology with a range of Consultant and Nurse Led clinics.
The Gynaecology Assessment Unit is an acute assessment area for the review of patients presenting with gynaecological problems and includes early pregnancy assessment.
Main duties of the job
The Gynaecology Matron will make a proactive
contribution to planning for and improving future services, and take an active
lead in project management. Through clinical leadership, knowledge of the Trusts core values and utilisation of effective management skills he/she will ensure that the department teams are informed, trained and developed to enable care to be delivered to patients.
The
matron will promote and ensure a positive risk culture that ensures safety and
positive patient experience every time and ensure Governance processes are in
place and monitored across Gynaecology.
The matron will lead the quality and standards of care agenda within gynaecology,
particularly providing assurance around compliance with regulatory and internal
standards of care.
The Matron will ensure effective processes are in place in both the inpatient
and outpatient setting to enhance patient flow and ensure quality patient care,
experience and outcomes.
