Job summary
We are recruiting for a DXA Radiographer to join the
team. We are looking for a dynamic,
outgoing, enthusiastic individual, with excellent communication, and interpersonal
skills to join our growing DXA team.
The service is currently based at Dewsbury Hospital, and we
are entering an exciting time, as we look to expand and launch our service into a Community
Diagnostic Centre in 2024.
The successful applicant will have high professional
standards and enjoy the challenges of working in a busy, forward thinking
department. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are required with
the ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively with all members of
the team. The successful candidate will be required to take part in all aspects
of the out of hours rota across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be working with a small team of DXA radiographers. As part of this team you will perform scans, vet requests, and list prep to ensure the department runs effectively. The scanner currently used is a Hologic Discovery. The successful candidate will be given full training on how to use this equipment.
There is required admin to be performed including data cleansing of scans and performing back-ups of data.
You will be supported in performing your role with 2 advanced practitioners and a consultant radiographer.
Radiographers in DXA are also supported with a Clinical Support Worker, to aid in getting patients changed, help with manual handling and getting patients weighed and measured.
The role is advertised as DXA only, however, if the right candidate would like to rotate some of their time into plain-film to maintain skills and competencies, this option could be looked into.
