With the relaunch of Bronte Birth Centre, Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is excited to announce Midwife oppertunitesworking as core staff in our amazing, purpose built Freestanding Birth centre.
We are looking for highly motivated, clinically experienced and forward-thinking midwives, with a passion for supporting women during birth
Approximately 5,400 women each year choose to birth at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust accessing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care across the Wakefield district and North Kirklees. This is an exciting time for the Trust as with the addition of Bronte Birth Centre situated at Dewsbury District Hospital, we will once again be offering all four place of birth options.
We are now looking for passionate and experienced Band 6 Midwives to join our Birth centre team facilitating women centred, personalised, midwifery led intrapartum care 24/7.
You must be confident in the delivery of midwifery-led care and will work as an autonomous practitioner to provide and coordinate the highest standard of care, supported by a maternity support worker on shift, and an on-call community team.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated, clinically experienced and forward-thinking midwife
The successful candidate will support women and families throughout pregnancy and birth, providing information which meets the women's individual needs and develops pathways to support shared decision making and the co-production of care, ensuring that there is an emphasis on unbiased, reliable information and that women understands both risks and benefits.
Promote fully informed choice and personalisation, both through 1:1 appointments and engagement
Provide care according to agreed evidence-based standards and guidelines.
Encourage active labour, using a range of positions for birth including immersion in water.
Recognise deviations during the physiological processes of birth and escalate according to agreed guidelines.
Take part in multi-disciplinary learning and monitor performance and transfer rates through audit ensuring sound clinical decision making.
Monitor and continually review performance, effectiveness and user satisfaction.
Participate in research relating to midwifery units and national audit.
