Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Digital Trainer on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave

The postholder will work alongside a team of Digital Trainers to primarily review and develop technology enhanced learning (TEL) content

Experience of working in a Digital Training environment would be advantage as well as experience of using digital systems in a healthcare setting.

The postholder should be highly motivated, with the ability to engage with colleagues in a wide variety of roles.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will work alongside a team of Digital Trainers to provide digital training for staff working at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust (MYTT)

The role will primarily focus on the development of digital learning content using a variety of multi-media resources such as eLearning, videos, webinars, online assessments etc

You will work closely with colleagues in Digital Services but will also be required to engage with subject matter experts in the wider organisation

Ensure robust governance is in place when developing content prior to publication

Responsibility for the management of the TEL workplan, working closely with the Digital Training Team Leader and Head of Service to prioritise and deliver tasks

Monitor the effectiveness of digital learning content to make recommendations for future developments, but also to ensure that this content is meeting the educational needs of users

Provide training and development support to colleagues in the production of digital learning content

Represent the team at local and national events

Manage digital learning content on our Learning Management System (LMS)

Review, critique and adapt content provided by external sources for use in MYTT

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide assistance to users of the Trusts Digital Learning Centres.

Use complex and specialist knowledge of clinical and desktop systems, eg eCamis, Symphony, SystmOne, eMeds, PPM, eObs, Microsoft Office and extensive knowledge of working practices throughout the organisation to deliver competency based training.

Design and develop digital learning solutions, including videos and eLearning to ensure the 24/7 requirements of our workforce are met.

Utilise the Learning Management System (LMS) effectively to host and track learning completion.

Develop knowledge of Systems by attending relevant Train-the-Trainer programmes both in-house or external.

Promote and prepare an effective learning environment to include setup of rooms, IT Equipment and training environments.

Utilise a variety of training methodologies to meet the needs of individuals, making adjustments where necessary to take into account learning styles, skill levels, educational, physical and language barriers.

Develop and continually review training scripts to ensure that they reflect realistic scenarios in line with Trust-wide and local processes.

Develop assessments to provide assurance of an individuals competency. Where competency is not demonstrated recommend a learning path to ensure the individual meets the required standard.

Instigate strategies that enthuse and motivate learners to ensure that they achieve positive learning outcomes.

Provide cover for the Digital Training Administrator, ensuring that staff are booked onto the correct course and appropriate confirmation communications are sent. This involves use of the Oracle Learning System (OLM) to manage new and existing bookings.

Upload course support materials to the Trust intranet (SharePoint). Ensuring they are version controlled and reviewed on a regular basis. Liaise closely with the Digital Systems Team to align materials to system upgrades.

Ensure all learners complete the course evaluation and that this is reviewed and any modifications to the course or personal performance are addressed.

Respond to learner questions and resolve any barriers to learning that may arise, escalating issues or concerns to the Head of Digital Training & iServices where necessary.

Work closely with other Trust Teams, eg Data Quality, Information Management, Digital Systems Teams to ensure that our programmes incorporate key learning objectives, eg frequent DQ errors.

Ensure all training is delivered in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Trust, Divisions, Departments and other external organisations.

Be involved in end stage user acceptance testing (UAT) of Digital Systems to ensure that associated training materials are fit for purpose and published prior to go live.

Attend all relevant meetings both internal and external as and when required.

Communicate effectively and professionally with staff at all levels within the Trust. Receive, understand and communicate complex information.

Contribute to an active team learning environment which includes sharing expertise and training with other members of the team.

Contribute to the effective communication of key messages; this may involve the creation of flyers, videos, newsletters or direct face to face communication via presentations, floor walking, information stands, etc.

Ensure that Information Governance guidelines are incorporated into relevant course outlines.

The postholder will be responsible for managing their own workload within agreed timescales.

Respond to users who have logged helpdesk training calls, in a timely fashion.

Operate on a flexible basis to accommodate the needs of out of hours users of the service.

Work across all Trust sites to provide training to all staff areas.

Be actively involved in marketing the Digital Training service, eg Staff Benefits Road Show, Learning at Work Week, Corporate Inductions.
