Job summary
This is an exciting
time to join the expanding pre-assessment service at MYTT. This role covers all 3 hospital sites - Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury & District Hospital.
Pre-assessment is
one of the first steps in the patient's journey of their elective surgery and
therefore a rewarding and varied role within which you will play key part of
the patient's pathway. You will be one of the first members of the team to
greet the patient and carry out a range of clinical skills prior to their
clinic appointment with the nurse.
This role will include undertaking clinical skills including but not limited to venepuncture, performing ECG's, undertaking
swabs and observations. This is fast-paced area and you will provide care to a wide variety of patients undergoing varying surgical procedures across all of the
surgical specialities. These surgeries will be a
mixture of minor, intermediate and major as well as local anaesthetic. Some
patients will be undergoing surgery for Cancer and so having a kind and
compassionate approach is essential.
This role will also include some admin and
reception duties. The shift pattern for this area does not include nights and weekends.
The pre-assessment
service is undergoing a transformation process and it is a really exciting
opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team. We are a nurse led service who work alongside the entire
MDT with key focus on working with the Anaesthetic Doctors and Surgeons.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical
Support Worker (CSW)
is responsible for the delivery
of holistic, patient- centered care which is planned
and directed by health care professionals. This will include a range of core
clinical skills and depending on the area worked will include specific patient
or specialty clinical skills.
The post
holder is responsible for delivering high standards of care and providing
services in accordance with the Trusts values
and behaviours to support the nursing
team in the delivery of patient care which is safety and effective.
