An exciting opportunity has arisen, we are looking to recruit a Foundation Training Programme Secretary within our Medical Education team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team on a full-time basis and this is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing ones.
The post holder will work closely with the Foundation Training Programme Directors and the Foundation Lead & Wellbeing and Pastoral Support Advisor.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to provide administration support to the Foundation Training Programme Directors (FTPDs) and Course Organisers.
Excellent communication skills are required as the role involves close liaison with the Foundation School, Educational/Clinical Supervisors and resident doctors on behalf of the Foundation Training Programme Directors.

Job responsibilities
To
assist and support the FTPDs in maintaining office information systems to
support the Foundation School.
Disseminate
and communicate relevant information to Foundation Resident Doctors on behalf
of the FTPDs and the Foundation School in a timely manner.
Liaise
with NHSE Foundation Schools, College Tutors, Education/Clinical Supervisors
and resident doctors on behalf of the FTPDs.
The
post holder will be expected to understand and keep up to date with foundation
training activities which will be provided through on the job training and
attending local Foundation School meetings.
With
instruction from the FTPDs and in accordance with local procedures coordinate
mandatory teaching sessions for foundation resident doctors. To include organising the venue, catering,
training materials and to ensure trainers/facilitators are reminded in a timely
manner.
Maintenance
and good electronic housekeeping of e-portfolio systems must be in place at all
times.
The
post holder will be responsible for correct data entry and storage of computer
based information regarding foundation resident doctors.
The
post holder will have in place computerised systems for monitoring and
reporting attendance, appraisal and absences for individual foundation resident
doctors.
General
office administration to include photocopying and dealing with telephone
enquiries.
Assist patient/carers
during courses and examinations.
Act
as a contact point for foundation resident doctors.
Liaise
with the FTPDs to identify any concerns or issues that may
arise with individuals at the earliest possible opportunity.
To
provide pastoral support to foundation resident doctors as well
as providing information, advice and guidance.
The
post holder will be required to take informal minutes to include sensitive
information regarding individual foundation resident doctors.
To
ensure the post holder is up to date with all aspects of foundation training
attendance and participation in meetings both internal and external to the
Trust will be expected within the remit and area of job responsibilities.
