Job summary
The Resuscitation Service are looking for a highly motivated
registered nurse with recent clinical experience, to join our friendly and
dynamic team. We aim to recruit and develop someone who has a passion for
teaching and has a keen interest in resuscitation, patient safety and quality
improvement projects.
There will be developmental opportunities for the successful
applicant, including the opportunity to achieve an Immediate Life Support
(ILS) provider qualification and (if nominated) support to progress to a Resuscitation Council
(UK) ILS instructor. ILS instructor status will also allow the candidate to expand their teaching experience by assisting with the
delivery of the Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS course.
Main duties of the job
The Resuscitation service is responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive efficient and effective Resuscitation service, to deliver education and training to Trust staff in accordance with the Resuscitation Council UK, (RCUK) standards and guidance.
The post holder will:_
- deliver adult basic life support and automated external defibrillation (AED) skills to the multi disciplinary team.
- Participate in and support quality assurance and audit activities within the department (e.g. for cardiac arrest equipment, Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and treatment (ReSPECT), and DNACPR, training and the National Cardiac Arrest Audit (NCCA))
- Act as a point of contact for emergency equipment related issues
- Assist with life support course coordination and preparing & setting up equipment
- Support Trust wide provision of cardiac arrest equipment

- Clinically credible, able to use their clinical experience to deliver high quality evidence/ researched based education to staff caring for the deteriorating adult.
- Thorough knowledge of the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
- Evidence of working within a team and supporting departmental objectives.
Desirable
- Previous exposure to management of cardiac arrest.
- Is flexible to the learning styles of candidates and can adapt teaching methods to suit their needs.
- Evidence of previous experience in delivering simulation training.
