Job summary
The radiology research team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS
Trust are looking to appoint a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic
individual who is keen to develop along the clinical research route. The
radiology department currently manages an active research and audit portfolio and
continue to expand our research capacity and capability. It is a very exciting
time to join the Trust as we have initiated a research collaboration with an industry partner and will commence recruitment to several research projects exploring the role of
technologies such as cone-beam CT in streamlining patient care pathways.
This post would provide a development opportunity for individuals wishing to gain experience in all aspects of research delivery and to broaden their current skill base within a supportive department. The post is funded for two years in the first instance but there is opportunity for extension of the role depending on funding/research activity. The department is keen to further educational opportunities, both formal and informal, and individuals are actively supported in this area. You will be expected to work across the hospital sites as required by the service.
For more details or for an informal visit please
contact Martine Mallinson, Lead Research Radiographer: 01924 543070, martine.mallinson@nhs.net
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
Indicative interview dates 7th/8th October 2024.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be appointed to band 5 or 6 dependent on previous experience with the agreement that you will be upgraded to band 6 on completion of a set of objectives.
You will be a key part of our small team,
contributing to the coordination of research activities and delivering research
in terms of participant recruitment, image acquisition, data collection, and
stakeholder engagement. Raising the profile of audit and research within the
radiology service and wider Trust is also fundamental. Applicants must be
innovative and adaptive with good time management skills and the ability to
prioritise workload with limited supervision. With training, the role will
involve supporting departmental audit and service evaluation, providing advice
to colleagues, and the unique opportunity to participate in locally generated
research.
About us
We provide care and support to over a million people in

three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).
Always striving for excellence, we are at the forefront of
innovation and research, and we invest in teaching and the development of our
workforce.
We live by our values of caring, improving, being respectful
and maintaining high standards. We listen and learn because we aim to make Mid
Yorkshire the best place to work and receive care.

someone with a health and care need. As ethnic minority groups, members of the
LGBTQ+ community, and people with a disability/neurodivergence are currently
under-represented across the organisation, we encourage applications from
members of these groups. We have policies and procedures to ensure all
applicants are treated fairly and consistently.
We are proud of our staff networks - who offer valuable
guidance and feedback from those with lived experience.
We have a clear vision and you could be part of this! If
