Our
Community Paediatric team is made up of a wide range of enthusiastic and
passionate individuals which currently include 4 consultants, 2 associate
specialists, 2 specialist doctors, 4 core trainees, and a diverse team of
nursing staff. The clinical team is supported by a dedicated secretariat team,
with office and networked computer facilities.
We are a busy centre, serving a large diverse population. Our community
paediatric services are delivered across two hospital sites (Pinderfields,
Wakefield and Pontefract), which make up The Mid-Yorkshire Teaching Trust. The
service also delivers clinics within special schools and medical centres in the
geographical area. Our vision is to deliver patient-centred, accessible and
integrated services as seamlessly as possible with primary care. The dedicated
team at Mid-Yorks sees around 4,500 patients through our outpatient
departments. Our Trust has modern, spacious state of the art clinical,

Main duties of the job

General Community and Neurodisability Clinics
ADHD assessment
Social Communication assessments
Administrative duties, for which appropriate office space and
secretarial support is provide
Promote a multi-disciplinary team approach
to care within community paediatrics and the wider health/education/social care
teams in childrens therapy services, CAMHS and the local authority
Support will be offered for further development through the
CESR programme
Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with the
Trust Framework, with at least a
minimum of 1 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCC
time may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidate
and changing requirements of the service.
