Job summary

Open to Bradford school of Nursing students qualifying in Spring 2025.

Thank you for your interest in commencing your Nursing career at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. In November we are running a recruitment event very much centred on you. In keeping with our core values, we want to offer you an individualised experience to support you to realise your career dreams working at a nationally award-winning Trust.

We have a dedicated Professional Development and Education Unit (PDEU), who are leading the way nationally with their programme for supporting newly qualified nurses in collaboration with the divisional teams, to make the transition from students to registered nurses as successful as possible. The PDEU team have won various national and local awards all in recognition of the work they do to improve the experience of newly qualified nurses working at MYTT. Furthermore, MYTT has this year being awarded the National Preceptorship for Nursing Quality Mark, evidence of the dedication and high standard we commit to our graduate nurses and those that support them.

Main duties of the job

During the bespoke Bradford School of Nursing recruitment event we will showcase key aspects of our services and share some of the amazing work at the Trust to ensure you are supported and valued within your preceptorship and future years as a Registered Nurse. Helping you to reach your full potential and feel confident to give the high standards of care to our service users across the Trust.

You will have the chance to meet members of our nursing teams, who will talk through the support available and further career progression, along with opportunities for all your questions to be answered. You will also take part in a career discussion which will be centred on your own ambitions and address any questions you have. By attending we will offer you employment with the Trust, supporting you to work in the area of your choice.

To receive an invite to the event and so we can offer you the best experience, we ask that you provide us with information about yourself, your education and your aspirations by submitting an application. Within the application there will be space for you to indicate your placement preference upon qualification.

Our event is taking place on Wednesday 6th November 2024.

About us

We provide care and support to over million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).

Always striving for excellence, we are at the forefront of innovation and research, and we invest in teaching and the development of our workforce.

We live by our values of caring, improving, being respectful and maintaining high standards. We listen and learn because we aim to make Mid Yorkshire the best place to work and receive care.

We value diversity and welcome talent and enthusiasm irrespective of age, disability, neurodivergence, sex, gender identity and gender expression, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or other personal circumstances including providing unpaid carers support to someone with a health and care need. As ethnic minority groups, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with a disability/neurodivergence are currently under-represented across the organisation, we encourage applications from members of these groups. We have policies and procedures to ensure all applicants are treated fairly and consistently.

We are proud of our staff networks - who offer valuable guidance and feedback from those with lived experience.

We have a clear vision and you could be part of this! If you share our values and you want to make a difference to the lives of our patients and their families and carers, we would love to hear from you.
