Due to
promotions within the team, we are pleased to share the opportunity for a new generalist SLT to join us here at MYTT Adult SLT department working across the stroke and acute wards. This is a 30 hours per week position.

This is a
career enhancing opportunity for a suitably qualified, skilled
and dynamic SLT. The post holder can be newly qualified or experienced but must be interested in working in hospital services; assessing and treating patients with both communication and swallow presentations.
The post holder will work autonomously across both the acute and stroke ward settings. They will be involved in MDT meetings, caseload review meetings, SLT staff meetings and service developments.
Dysphagia caseload management skills are advantageous but dysphagia training can be provided.
We have a
very established and experienced SLT leadership team who specialise in areas
across acute, head and neck, voice, community, stroke and
instrumental specialisms.

Main duties of the job
The role involves working with patients who have communication and swallow impairments due to a range of conditions, who are in the hospital setting. The role involves working across stroke, elderly, respiratory, oncology and spinals for example, across Pinderfields and Dewsbury Hospitals.
Regular supervision will be provided and you will have access to protected CPD time and training opportunities.
There will also be a small amount of time ringfenced for outpatient or home visit caseload work via community service pathways.
Our service offers videofluoroscopy assessment across acute and community areas and we have an emerging FEES service.
