We have a new and exciting opportunity at The Mid Yorkshire
Teaching NHS Trust for a Team Leader to join our service. This opportunity has
arisen due to a re-structure within Therapies Management. This is a wonderful
opportunity for someone who would like to work within a leadership and
operational based role, working closely with clinicians; contributing to the
success of our team to optimise patient care.

This is a career enhancing opportunity for an experienced,
suitably qualified, skilled and dynamic SLT. The post holder is required to be
an autonomous individual who is able to develop effective, professional
relationships with SLT, Therapy and Trust colleagues, stakeholders and
key MDT members.
The post holder will oversee a team of talented Speech and
Language Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Admin colleagues.
This an excellent opportunity for someone who is either new
to a team lead role, or already has leadership experience. This role provides an opportunity to work with a broad range of clinical service areas.
There is also a small amount of hospital based clinical hours built in to the role, enabling the post holder to maintain specialist clinical skills.
Leadership training and development will be encouraged in role.

Main duties of the job
You will provide direct line management and supervision to the Clinical Leads and
Admin Co-ordinator, and have overall line management responsibility for the rest of the team. The clinical leads and admin lead provide devolved day to day line management, support and supervision for the
rest of the team. You will work closely with the SLT Service Lead and other Team Leads across therapies.
The role involves knowing, supporting and encouraging our
staff and services; providing support and supervision, writing and implementing
SOP's and policy, completing risk assessments, reviewing quality standards and working
with governance processes, implementing and overseeing audit, contributing to business cases, dealing with
eroster and payroll, liaising with HR and OH, chairing team meetings, leading and overseeing service
developments and communicating information with the team.
This is a varied and exciting role with around 9 hours ringfenced for clinical duties. You will be supported by
the Adult SLT Service Lead with regular supervision and business meetings. The SLT Leadership team work together to support SLT colleagues,
facilitate service developments and respond to local and national requirements.
Our experinced Clinical Leads specialise in and oversee acute, head and neck, voice, community and stroke. The
service offers VF and an emerging FEES service. Our service areas include
hospitals; Pinderfields and Dewsbury, outpatients and community.
