Job summary

To work within the Education Team for the Division of Adult Community Services in accordance with the team and wider Trust values. This role will support and facilitate the learners and students across the clinical workforce to identify learning and development opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care through enhancing placement experience, education and pastoral support opportunities.

The post holder will develop skills to support and facilitate training delivered by the Education Team to improve experience and identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care. This will include working alongside any learner within the clinical environment to achieve competence and confidence supporting education and training to induct and develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.

Main duties of the job

Key requirements include:

To support the Education Team in facilitating and delivering induction and training programmes for Pre-Registered and Registered staff

Providing in situ clinical support to appropriate staff groups to assist in achieving competencies and developing confidence in their roles.

Provide Pastoral support to learners and new starters to ensure wellbeing is supported

To support the Practice Educator in student Capacity Mapping, audits and cost collection

To be accountable for a group of learners within the Educators allocated areas

Be accountable for the delegated responsibility for specific workstreams

Provide consitant contributions to the teams development projects and workstreams

Work in collaboration with clinical managers, assessors, supervisors and preceptors to support specific learner needs within the clinical environment.

Supporting the Education Team to help ensure a high-quality training programme is maintained, that learning outcomes can be met, and are aligned with service demands.

Support and engage in other service improvement objectives to aid success.

Manage the process of identifying areas of good practice, areas for improvement and improving standards of care. Including facilitating and promoting the sharing of good practice via clinical practice forums and other trust-wide and national forums.

Teaching and Learning

Deliver education and training programmes to ensure that knowledge, skills and competencies of the professional and support staff meet the need of the service

Maximise the opportunities that informal teaching sessions can offer and adopt a flexible and innovative approach to education delivery

Deliver training packages to support our system partners in addition to the MYTT staff

Work in collaboration with divisonal practice educators to ensure standards of education are maintained

Create an environment to support inter and multi professional working and learning in practice

Support clinical teams to enhance the support they offer to learners on clinical placement

Recognise, communicate and praise the achievements of the team and the individuals within team

In conjunction with the Education Team, monitor and evaluate clinical standards, identify and support the development of action plans for learners, for areas of poor practice in conjunction with ward managers/ senior nurses, to improve the delivery of patient care and experience
