Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 registered nurse to join our multidisciplinary team within the Wakefield Intermediate Care Unit, based at Pontefract Hospital.
The Wakefield Intermediate Care Unit (WICU) is a 22-bedded Rehabilitation Unit that provides short term in-patient care to adults (aged 18 years and over) who need extra support, care and rehabilitation following an acute hospital stay.
Our expert multi-disciplinary team includes registered and non-registered nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, who work alongside a wider support team and in partnership with our patients and their families to provide the care they need and to support their safe and timely discharge home.
As a valued member of staff, you will receive a comprehensive induction to the Trust and to the team.
Full and part-time hours will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work as part of the WICU multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning and implementation of care plans, and effective discharge planning, to ensure patient safety, service quality and excellent patient experience that meets the needs of the patient and Unit objectives.
They will act as a role model, demonstrating the highest standards of professional conduct and the Trust core values, and in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
