An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Neonatal Nurse to join our dynamic Neonatal Unit. We are a busy, high-volume unit, admitting around 450 babies.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, family-centred care to sick and pre-term infants, ensuring that we meet the needs of our diverse population We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and compassionate Neonatal Nurse who is committed to the delivery of high-quality care.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working in a fast-paced and evolving environment and will be able to manage competing priorities effectively. Main duties of the job

Strive for continuous improvements in the delivery of high quality patient focused care. To provide and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for a number of babies requiring intensive, high dependency and special care Participate within the ward team including the delegation of work on a day-to-day basis for junior staff. Act as clinical expert providing specialist knowledge and advice to both nurses and medical staff working within the unit. Be the named clinical expert responsible for on shift for the continuing care of neonates within the unit. Organise own workload and support junior staff to time manage and prioritise. Plan and manage skill mix to reflect the workload and meet the needs of the patients, including using the e-rostering system effectively. Actively participate in the department budget and with support from ward sister exercise care and economy in the ordering and use of supplies/ equipment. Participate in the development and delivery of a philosophy of care which involves/respects the rights of patients carers and staff. Lead by example, motivate and empower others. Promote effective communication when liaising with all members of the multidisciplinary team. Relate to all staff and patients in a confident manner, demonstrating good listening skills and work effectively as part of team.
