Clinical Support Worker

The closing date is 20 March 2026

Job summary

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Support Worker to join our CT department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. This role combines direct patient care with supporting the safe and efficient use of radiology equipment and computer systems, helping to ensure our patients receive high-quality care across our four hospital sites: Pinderfields (Wakefield), Pontefract, Dewsbury, and the Wakefield Community Diagnostic Centre.

The successful applicant will be a caring, motivated, and reliable individual, able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will provide compassionate support to patients, assist with their comfort and preparation for imaging procedures, and support the team in using departmental computer systems and technology effectively. You will also be required to cannulate patients as part of your role, with full training provided for this and all other aspects of the job.

You will be confident, flexible, and professional, able to work across day shifts, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow instructions accurately and work in a fast-paced environment. In return, you will also have the opportunity to develop your skills further and contribute to continuous improvement within the department.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the team delivering high quality service within Radiology.

To carry out administration duties in a manner that supports departmental targets and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.

To undertake administrative and patient care duties to enable a patient focussed service. The post holder is required to rotate across administrative and patient care functions.

The post holder is required to keep confidential all information and documentation relating to either a patient, a member of staff or service business, which he/she comes into contact with.

All staff are expected to respect the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, as this incorporates the need for a high standard of data quality, confidentiality and information security.
