Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Digital Services Operations team as a Digital Operations Analyst at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

The Digital Operations Team support the trust Cyber Security, Servers, Network and Data Storage, along with the implementation and support of new systems.

The successful candidate will lead the implementation of new digital solutions, ensure compliance with relevant standards, support and maintain the existing servers and storage, and monitor the performance of the estate to identify and correct potential issues.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate to deliver high-quality services and contribute to its ongoing development.

Experience of working in a high-pressured NHS IT service environment with the ability to communicate with confidence to staff and customers at all levels, would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Digital Services Operations will be a key member of the Digital Services team, responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and resilience of the Trusts digital infrastructure, systems, and data.

The role involves managing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Trust's server and storage estate in line with industry standards, legal requirements, and NHS guidelines. The post holder will provide expert technical advice and operational support on digital platform matters across the organisation, including risk assessments, threat mitigation, and incident response.

Working closely with other Digital Services teams, the Digital Operations Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the Trusts digital strategy, implementing solutions, and monitoring and maintaining the digital environment.

Job responsibilities

  • Maintenance and support of the storage area network (SAN) and provide knowledge on server and storage configuration and associated topics, including performance and capacity management
  • Responsible for the specification, procurement and installation of the server infrastructure required to support the Trust.
  • Responsible for the management of Digital hardware support contracts ensuring reliability, availability and value for money.
  • Responsible for ensuring the right level of knowledge and tools are available to the Trust Digital support staff.
  • Responsible for the development and visioning of Digital services provision in support of Trust objectives.
  • Responsible for the implementation and adherence to relevant Trust and national policies and standards within the department and where appropriate within the Trust.
  • Apply independent judgement in the evaluation of new and existing information systems
  • Maintenance and support of Microsoft AlwaysOn VPN and or MS RRAS
  • Working closely with other team members to support IT applications. e.g. Microsoft Active Directory, RD-Web, VMWare, System Centre Configuration Manager, SQL Server.
