Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategically focused Director of Estates and Facilities to join our Trust at a pivotal time of transformation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be professionally accountable for all estates and facilities related activity across the Trust, ensuring our built environment is safe, sustainable and fit for purpose for our patients and our staff.
You will be responsible for shaping and delivering the Trusts Estates Strategy ensuring alignment with our clinical strategy, adopting a Corporate Landlord model to maximise estate utilisation whilst ensuring that patient and staff experience is the best it can be.
You will act as the Trusts subject matter expert on estates and facilities, advising the Board and working closely with clinical, corporate and external partners across the system.
As a member of the Trusts senior leadership team, you will play a full part in corporate leadership, contributing to organisational performance, quality, financial sustainability and the delivery of long-term strategic objectives.
The salary agreed for this position will be dependent on your experience and in line with the Very Senior Managers (VSM) Pay Framework.
Main duties of the job
- Advise the Board on all estates and facilities matters, acting as the Trusts Subject Matter Expert
- Develop and deliver the Estates Strategy, Delivery Plan and Capital Strategy for Board approval
- Responsible for constructing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining safe and secure patient and staff environments
- Act as the Trusts Corporate Landlord, ensuring that the estate is managed efficiently and effectively providing the maximum possible value
- Oversee the management of the Trusts PFI contracts Provide visible, values-driven leadership, empowering teams and working in strong partnership with clinical leaders
