Burn Care Nurse Advisor

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for implementing and evaluating the provision of high quality, evidence based, multi professional training and education to all primary and secondary services within the catchment area of the Burns Service, in relation to the initial management and referral of patients with a burn injury (both adults & children).

The post holder must ensure that the delivery of education and training meets the requirements of The National Standards for provision & Outcomes in Adult & Paediatric Burn Care 2023.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing education to all referring services. This education will involve who to refer, how to refer & also provide an education package for the patients who do not need referral.

Acting as a resource for all referring agencies for education, support and advice.

Developing, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating burns education programmes within the catchment area, in relation to the initial management and referral of a patient with a burn injury

Facilitating two way communication and feedback between referring services and the burn service

Developing and participating in audit work to meet the requirements of the National Burn Care Standards

Promoting a consistent approach to the management of patients with a burn injury across the NBCODN
