Job summary
Here at the Mid Yorkshire Trust an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Photographer to become a key role within our department here at Radiology. We require someone who has excellent organisational and Interpersonal skills and who can continuously improve themselves and help others to do so within our department. The successful candidate will have a BSc in Medical Illustration or a relevant degree plus the IMI PEC or a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Illustration. Equivalent qualifications considered, also trainee applications will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an extensive range of clinical photography skills.

Main duties of the job
- Digitally capture accurate, clinical photographic images of patients in the studio, on the wards and operating theatres around the hospital on a daily basis.
- Have the expertise to recognise medical conditions and surgical procedures and demonstrate the visual appearance for documentation.
- Undertake appropriate photographic examinations as requested by clinicians, referring questionable requests to a senior medical photographer.
- Respect patient dignity and cultural differences during photographic sessions.
- Insert appropriate oral retractors and/or mirrors to facilitate dental, oral surgery and facial maxillary photography.
- Produce photographic evidence for the police accompanied by written police statements.
- Undertake medico-legal requests for solicitors.
- Participate in the training of undergraduate medical photographers.
