Job summary

We are looking for individuals who have a flexible approach to working, those who are caring, kind and compassionate, and happy to work as part of a large but inclusive team within the Xray Departments. Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust includes Pontefract, Pinderfields (Wakefield) and Dewsbury Hospitals, the newly opened Wakefield Community Diagnostic centre (CDC).

Health care support workers undertake a variety of tasks which include administrative and patient care duties, working closely with radiographers in the clinical setting.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direction of a registrant, participate fully in the delivery of planned acute care of patients attending the radiology service for treatment or investigations, within the boundaries of your role which may include chaperoning of patients, escorting, transferring of patients and providing 1 to 1 patient centred care or caring for a group of patients that require enhanced care.

Demonstrates own duties and role to new starters.

Frequent exposure to emotional and distressing events, Orders supplies under the direction of the department lead.

Participate in patient and public involvement activities. Participate in general cleanliness and tidiness of the environment
