Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Childrens Physiotherapist to join our committed and supportive Childrens Therapy Team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
This is a temporary position, to cover maternity leave within our team, This is an amazing career opportunity for an enthusiastic band 6 to work with children and young people with a wide range of developmental, neurological, and physical needs. Youll play a vital role in enabling children to achieve their potential and participate fully in everyday activities at home, in school, and in the community.
Experience in working with Children within physiotherapy fields is required for this position, and we will welcome a motivated and passionate therapist, who would like to take the next step in his/her career.
The post may include working within Special schools, mainstream schools and community. Our Team offers evidence-based interventions for children and young people from birth to 19 with additional needs impacting on their development and/or participation at childhood activities across all settings.
Regular staff meetings, safeguarding, clinical supervision and staff development are an integral part of the service. The Childrens Therapy Team prides itself as being part of the wider MDT which comprises of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Autism Assessment Team.

Main duties of the job
To provide specialist physiotherapeutic assessment and management of Paediatric patients with diverse paediatric neurological presentations and complex physical symptoms.
To provide physiotherapy for children with wide ranging neurodevelopmental presentations in the hospital and community settings.
Provide effective holistic and age-appropriate physiotherapy treatment of children in a suitable environment and hold a patient caseload.
Providing acute respiratory and orthopaedic ward cover at PGH where cover is required within normal working hours.
The specialist clinician will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individual treatment programme for their patients.
To provide leadership and support to junior therapy colleagues in the assessment and management of Paediatric conditions.
To provide peer support, supervision and second opinions to members of the wider Paediatric team.
To provide clinical education of physiotherapy students on placement.
Be proactive in self-development and demonstrating initiative in promoting innovative approach to service development.
Maintain own professional development and demonstrate high standards of clinical performance and professional practice
To undertake a leadership role where appropriate in the clinical setting, where overseeing, planning and implementing objectives for more junior staff is necessary.
