Job summary

Undertake a wide range of duties at a supervisory level within the Pharmacy Technical Services department. Contribute to enhancing the quality of Patient care through the efficient delivery of the Pharmaceutical Service to Patients, Wards and Departments both within the Trust and to other healthcare organisations To undertake the Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) qualification in order to register and work as an accountable professional with The Science Council for Registered Science Technicians (RSciTech). Have the ability to work without direct supervision accessing managerial support when needed.

Job description

Job responsibilities

·NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent including level 3 preparation units or equivalent level of experience.

·Extensive experience of working in an Aseptic/Manufacturing environment.

·Leeds University Aseptic Preparation of Medicines (APDM) short course, or be willing to undertake

·Educated to a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent.

·Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Level 3 or a willingness to work towards this qualification.

·Registration with the Science Council for Registered Technicians (RSciTech) or to be willing to work towards meeting the criteria to obtain professional RSciTech registration.

·Experience of working in a hospital Aseptic pharmacy department

·Previous experience of working in a Technical Services department.

·Evidence of training in Aseptic dispensing procedures

·Knowledge and understanding of GMP and QA and its application to Aseptic processing.

·Good working knowledge of safe dispensing and aseptic practices
