Job summary
We are looking to recruit 3 part-time Housekeepers to join our Trust and become an integral part of the Facilities Service Team. You will play a vital role in supporting patient care by maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment and assisting in the delivery of patient meals. The hours are; Mon to Fri 11.30am -19.00pm - 32.5 hrs per week. Mon to Fri, 15.00 - 20.00pm - 32.5 hrs per week. Mon to Fri, 16.00 - 19.00pm - 15 hrs per week You will work in accordance with Trust policies and the National Specification for Cleanliness in the NHS, ensuring that patients receive their meals in a supportive and dignified manner. Main duties of the job
Ensuring that patients have a daily menu and provide assistance with meal ordering (as necessary). Preparing the patient environment for meals. Inform patients of imminent food service so that they can wash hands or use wipes. Ensure patients who cannot wash their hands are assisted to do so. Ensure bed table is clean, tidy and within reach. Be aware of patients with special requirements, e.g., beaker, plate guards. Set up trays and ensure patients have cutlery, napkins and condiments. Participate and support the delivery of the protected meals initiative. Receiving food regeneration trolley to the clinical area, checking that the contents meet the set time and temperature standards and match meal requirements. Ensuring food is served to patients at the correct temperature. Ensure that patients receive their correct nutritional requirements, including patients fasting and special dietary arrangements (under the direct guidance of the nursing staff). Serve beverages, collect cutlery and crockery for return to the catering hub. Order patient sandwiches for those requiring food outside of mealtimes and as required prepare and serve additional snacks and beverages to patients as appropriate. In conjunction with clinical staff, assist patients with special requirements at mealtimes.
